We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis I (Indian & Tandoor) to join our culinary team in Navi Mumbai India. As a Commis I specializing in Indian cuisine and tandoor cooking you will play a crucial role in preparing authentic and delicious dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our kitchen.
- Assist in the preparation of Indian dishes and tandoor specialties under the guidance of senior chefs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area including workstations equipment and storage areas
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques precisely to ensure consistency in flavor and presentation
- Properly handle store and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and maintain food safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies as needed
- Participate in menu development and suggest improvements to existing dishes
- Adhere to all health safety and hygiene regulations in the kitchen
Qualifications :
- Proven experience (12 years) in a professional kitchen preferably with a focus on Indian cuisine
- Proficiency in Indian cooking techniques especially tandoor cooking
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent knife skills and food preparation abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced kitchen environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Basic math skills for accurate ingredient measurements
- Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid food safety certification required
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
