Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated innovative and engaging Middle School Social Science and History Teacher to join our vibrant educational community for an August 2025 start. The school founded in 2016 is a K12 international school located at the foot of the picturesque and historic YuQuan Mountain Haidian District in Beijing. The campus is 200000 square meters of beautiful gardens that integrate natural ecology cultural heritage and modern beauty with 140000 square meters of green space.

The school curriculum is organized into the Elementary School grades K5 the Middle School grades 68 and High School grades 912. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Educations nineyear compulsory education program the curriculum is built on the strength of both Chinese and Western education.

For Elementary and Middle School the school follows a bilingual program using the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards along with the Chinese National Curriculum. For High School the school follows the US Common Core and College Board AP curriculum and also offers the UK IGCSE and ALevel UK programs.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Fouryear degree from an accredited university
  • Bachelor of Education PGCE Teaching license: QTS national/state teaching license/certificate or equivalent
  • Three years of experience teaching social sciences or history in a bilingual school international school or government/state school

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Instruction:

  • Plan develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive social science and history lessons aligned with international curriculum standards.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methodologies including technology integration and inquirybased learning to enhance student understanding.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking debate and a deeper exploration of historical and social issues.

Student Development & Assessment:

  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students supporting their academic growth and confidence in social sciences and history.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.

Collaboration & Professional Development:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop crosscurricular projects and maintain consistency in social science and history instruction across grade levels.
  • Stay current with developments in social science education and integrate best practices into the classroom.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities schoolwide initiatives and departmental meetings.

Parent Communication & Extracurricular Activities:

  • Establish and maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and learning experiences.
  • Participate in parentteacher conferences and provide detailed feedback on student academic performance.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities history clubs and school events to enrich student experiences beyond the classroom.

Remuneration & Benefits

The salary and benefits package provided is highly competitive depending on the qualifications and experiences of the successful candidate.
