The Service Technician III plays a crucial role in the service and maintenance of gas engine compressor packages and associated equipment across diverse applications.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise:
- Interpret Compressor Performance runs and utilize OEM Software.
- Provide a higher level of preventative and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression process and production equipment at client locations.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on equipment packages and systems.
- Install and perform minor and major overhauls on all equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of electrical systems and provide maintenance and service as required.
- Leadership and Coordination:
- Provide labor guidance and coordination for immediate repair needs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
- Identify and address equipment package and plant inefficiencies/issues.
- Assist in equipment Startup/Commissioning.
- Provide leadership and training to new Field Technicians.
- Safety:
- Recognize and comply with Health Safety and Environmental rules and policies.
- Participate fully in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program.
- Report incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Participate in BehaviorBased Safety programs (BBS).
- Contribute to incident reporting and investigation programs.
- Administrative and Reporting:
- Complete proper reports/actions required by the locations operating policies including Daily Service Reports.
- Review job parts & supply inventory to minimize investment while maintaining sufficient levels for proper job performance.
- Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Vocational School or Associated Degree preferred.
- Minimum five years experience in the field or certificate of completion from an acceptable trade school or military training and experience.
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to read write speak and understand basic English.
- Successfully comply with OSHArequired Respiratory Questionnaire and Fit Test.
- Health Safety training compliance.
- Must provide small hand tools as directed by Operations Management.
Skill Requirements:
- Ability to identify workplace Safety Health and Environmental hazards and mitigate them.
- Basic understanding of Gas & Oil properties conditions and theories.
- Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs Blueprints Installation Instructions and Technical Manuals.
- Strong mechanical ability troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Proficient in computer skills for detailed reports and documentation.
Working Environment:
- Ability to perform physical labor and work overtime (1012 hour days).
- Lift and move up to 60 pounds frequently; occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Stand walk climb perform overhead work use hands reach sit talk and hear.
- Vision requirements: at least 20/40 binocular vision close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
