Job Description

What you will do in this role

  • You will work closely with our DON to develop & implement the infection control program (ICP) in accordance with current IDPH regulations for our SNF environment. 
  • You will ensure compliance with current CDC OSHA and local regulations to provide staff education and training as needed. 
  • You will need to perform Infection (ICP) Surveillance; tracking & trending and developing action plans accordingly. 
  • You will lead the weekly Infection Control QAPI meetings and routinely monitor antibiotics usage & physician prescribing practices. 
  • You will work the floor as needed.
  • Its a big job in a busy center!

Qualifications :

Infection Control & Prevention Nurse (ICP Nurse) (Registered Nurse RN or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN):  officially we title this job an Infection Control & Prevention Nurse but in other centers it may be called a Safety & Infectious Disease RN Infection Control (ICP) Coordinator or an Infection Preventionist. 

What we need from you:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in IL
  • The aIPC EPI (101 and 102 for LTC) or CIC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control) is ideal.  But we will also consider applicants with a current (or willing to obtain the) CDC infection Prevention Training Course.  
  • Prior nursing care in a SNF or ICF setting preferred
  • Must have experience with an electronic documentation system; preferably PCC
