Job Description

  1. Ensure the safety of all guest and patrons in the pool area.
  2. Observe while sitting standing and moving around swimming pool/hot tub area all guests and patrons using the facilities.
  3. Ensure the opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
  4. Assist management with the daily operation of the Pool.
  5. Conduct safety trainings as needed to ensure compliance.

Qualifications :

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge skills and abilities)

  1. Ability to deal with a number of problems requiring initiative and good judgment.
  2. Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers some of whom will require patience tact and diplomacy to defuse anger. Collect accurate information and solve management concerns.
  3. Ability to perform all skills necessary for Lifeguard/CPR certification including ability to swim.
  4. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.
  5. Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  6. Ability to maintain a neat clean and wellgroomed appearance.

Typical physical / mental demands

  1. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language to complete job requirements and communicate with other employees.
  2. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.
  3. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction/guidance. Ability to relate to all levels of management guests and employees in verbal/written form.
  4. Ability to grasp bend lift and/or carry a maximum of 25lbs or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 75 lbs. on an intermittent basis and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including: multiline telephone.
  5. Ability to stand move and work throughout area including walking up to 2 miles climbing stairs/stepladders and/or sit at designated station for duration of the shift.
  6. Ability to read write speak and understand the English language to understand verbal/written requests/inquiries from Spa & Pool Supervisor Spa & Pool Manager guests and coworkers.

Typical Working Condition:

Work is performed in an outdoor pool environment: contact with guests department heads staff and management; and ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level temperature illumination and air quality.

Experience  Requirements

Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification.  Adult/Child/Infant CPR and First Aid certifications Shallow Water Lifeguard certification.

Education Requirements

Any combination of education training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
