Job Description: Payroll Specialist (SAGE)
Location: Cape Town CBD
Salary: R20000 R28000 PM (Negotiable)

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with experience in managing payroll operations for a large workforce to join our dynamic team. If you have strong expertise in payroll systems specifically SAGE and thrive in a fastpaced environment we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Administration:
    • Process monthly payroll for 500 employees ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
    • Handle endtoend payroll functions including calculations for overtime commissions allowances and deductions.
    • Maintain and update employee payroll records on SAGE payroll software.
  • Benefits Management:
    • Administer employee benefits such as retirement funds medical aid and other related perks.
    • Ensure correct deductions and contributions are applied to payroll.
  • Allowances & Tax Compliance:
    • Process and manage all employee allowances including travel housing and other applicable benefits.
    • Ensure payroll complies with statutory regulations including PAYE UIF and SDL submissions.
    • Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax reconciliations (EMP201/EMP501).
  • Employee Queries:
    • Address and resolve payrollrelated queries from employees promptly and professionally.
    • Provide payslips and required documentation to employees as needed.
  • Reconciliations & Reporting:
    • Conduct regular reconciliations of payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
    • Generate payroll reports for management and ensure audit readiness.
  • Compliance & System Updates:
    • Stay updated on changes in labour laws tax regulations and payroll best practices.
    • Ensure SAGE software is updated with any regulatory or policy changes.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background:
    • Diploma or degree in Accounting Payroll Administration or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience with largescale payrolls (e.g. 300 employees).
    • Proven experience with SAGE Payroll is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SAGE Payroll systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables formulas).
    • Familiarity with statutory submissions (e.g. SARS UIF SDL).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry and calculations.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to address employee queries and liaise with stakeholders.
    • Proactive problemsolving ability and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
