Subtitler Captioner

This is a remote position.

Description:

We are seeking experienced subtitlers and captioners located in the US Canada United Kingdom or New Zealand to produce highquality accurate and properly synchronized subtitles and captions that meet FCC (Federal Communications Commission) standards. This role involves creating and editing captions for a variety of content with a strong emphasis on precision timing and placement. You will work as an independent contractor and must be able to manage your tasks independently ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional results.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• Create accurate welltimed and complete subtitles and captions.
  
• Proofread and edit captions to ensure proper formatting and compliance with FCC standards.
  
• Research unknown words names or terms to maintain accuracy.
  
• Use subtitling software to create and modify SubRip (.srt) and Scenarist Closed Captions (.scc) files.
  
• Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong listening typing and proofreading skills.
  
• High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate captions.
  
• Proficient in using subtitling software.
  
• Experience in working independently and managing time efficiently.
  
• Familiarity with FCC standards for captions.
  

Preferred Skills:

• 2 3 years of experience in captioning or related fields.
  
• Proficiency in US English dialects.
  
• Knowledge of subtitling formats like .srt and .scc.
