Accountabilities:
- Individual family and group counselling within an addiction recovery model
- Case management
- Data collection and reporting
- Attendance at staff and other community/hospital meetings
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives
- Consistent patient documentation on electronic files
Qualifications :
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare/social services or related field required
- Postgraduate degree/diploma in mental health and addictions an asset
- Regulated health professional able to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy (or eligible to register with an applicable provincial college) preferred
- Minimum three (3) years experience in the past five years in counselling to those who have a substance use disorder and problem gambling required
- Experience working with the youth population (ages 1624) required.
- Experience supporting family members and those involved in providing support to the primary patient required
- Demonstrated skill in addiction assessment (e.g. MI ONT) and treatment
- Demonstrated experience in developing and/or facilitating therapeutic groups for those with substance use disorders and problem gambling as well as for their families/significant others
- Ability to work within a health care environment and within multidisciplinary teams both internally and externally
- Demonstrated skill in collaborating with other social service agencies/organizations
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge about concurrent disorders
- Demonstrated skill in cultural competence and knowledge of culturally appropriate community resources for those with addictions/concurrent disorders
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in program development and evaluation
- Computer skills essential experience with Meditech and Catalyst an asset
- Ability to travel and deliver service at various sites including internal and external partner sites required
- Knowledge of a second language is an asset

Additional Information :
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Program development and community outreach to maintain youth addiction program services. Service delivery of addiction group and individual counselling for youth (ages 1624) within an addiction recovery harm reduction model. Case management; data collection and reporting; attendance at staff and other community/hospital meetings; supporting quality improvement initiatives; consistent patient documentation on electronic medical record.
