WHATS THE JOB
Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility the regular shift for this position is 2 weeks on and 1 weeks off with 12hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from Edmonton.
As an HSEQ Coordinator reporting to the Manager HSEQ you will play a key role in the development implementation and monitoring of Health Safety and Training systems standards procedures and guidelines. This position will be responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of Horizon North department programs at our remote facilities.
This position is safety sensitive and requires drug alcohol and fit to work testing as a condition of employment.
Your work will include:
- Maintain communicate and assist in the development and facilitation of site Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) and tabletop drills.
- Facilitate maintain train and distribute various Horizon North HSE Toolbox resources including: Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA) and Behavior Based Observation (BBO).
- Conduct and/or be directly involved in incident investigations as will be required depending on their severity.
- Liaise closely with equipment operators drivers contractors vendors and other personnel to ensure that Horizon Norths HSE mandates safety culture and vision are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure that any safety concerns are immediately raised with the HSE Manager.
- Remain conversant with local provincial and federal OH&S codes regulation and laws and update staff accordingly.
- Liaise closely with the HSE Manager Workers Compensation Board (WCB) Claims Coordinator and Horizon Norths extended HSE team.
Qualifications :
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Three (3) years experience in a safetyrelated field;
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or equivalent will be considered an asset;
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all federal and provincial rules and regulations pertaining to safety codes and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) rules;
- Direct experience assessing training needs creating training materials to address identified needs and delivering relevant training based on needs assessment;
- Knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP controls
- Valid Class 5 drivers license
