New product Design & development Ensuring design of custombuilt special purpose motors IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Frame/ NEMA (National
Electrical Manufactures Association) frames 1ph/3ph electrical Motors and Specialized application motors (Geared BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) Actuator Brake etc.) to
meet all the requirements of the product & Customer including Application fitment requirements reliability safety cost competitiveness legal & statutory requirements &
implied requirements. Ensuring micro planning of design and development activities. Participating in design reviews Ensuring involvement in new component development
Prototype making application testing and post testing design correction for quality maturation. Using of appropriate tools like QFD (Quality function deployment) DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) Root cause analysis DFSS (Design in Six Sigma) in execution of design projects Managing design within the budgets to control material costs Understanding project inputs requirements and furnishing design documents for new product design and development activities
Evolution of Technical specification for Motor and project cost proposal for marketing Deriving motor technical specification based on end application and submit it to customer/ marketing. Ensuring estimation of project costing tooling investments Testing and approval costing Manpower requirement data to new design projects
Cost Optimization programs & Value Engineering of Electric Motor Designs Identifying of value engineering opportunity in existing design/ Legacy design. Redesigning motors considering new material new technology and alternative manufacturing methods to reduce cost with similar or better motor robustness and performance
Communication and engagement with stakeholders/ CFT Communicating with the Domestic and Overseas customers Suppliers related to design project to maintain and provide project related update/ Data as required. Conducting Design review with team with customer and with cross functional team for timely execution of design projects. Providing decisions for corrections of problem arising during manufacturing / at suppliers
Design Validation Ensuring the required testing is conducted internally to meet the operational and environmental test requirements. Conducting Application tests in coordination with marketing on field to ensure all the motor operational and Internal environmental requirements are met. Conducting endurance tests as applicable to ensure product life cycle requirements are ensured. Coordinating with Electrical / Electronic design team to ensure all the customer requirements are met
Benchmarking of competition and any applicable Mechanical design and related functional aspects Benchmarking of competitor electrical motor for construction fitments lubrication electromagnetic and insulation system. Noting down all data and derive right learnings. Doing the required improvements in existing design Ensuring that in new design add additional features as per benchmark without violating IP (Internet Protocol). Implementation of the improvements horizontally in applicable areas. Studying and analyzing of benchmark test results. Deriving the corelation with end application. Formulating the specification for design & development activity as applicable
Departmental IMS documentation: Fulfilling the IMS documentation for every design project Ensuring departmental IMS documentation preparation and Facing Audits.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Essential:
Knowledge of Electric Motors related to: Construction Material standards component and motor manufacturing processes Design Methodologies and Test Methods
Proven expertise and hands on experience of Electric Motor Design GD&T and Design tools with analytical skills
Experience in AutoCAD / Creo parametric / Solid works 2D and 3D Software
Ability to interact with Customers Suppliers key supplierpartners and CFT team members for working on assigned product portfolios
Strong command on GD&T 6. Understanding of global engineering standards
Preferred:
Explicit and clear Mechanical Design knowledge of Electrical Motors
Knowledge of Various machining Heat treatment Casting Molding 3D printing Wire cutting & Punching processes
Knowledge of manufacturing and application requirements of ferrous/ nonferrous Plastics sheet metal rubber Wiring Harness Springs and castings
Goal oriented SelfStarter Flexible to work on
