Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Data Engineer (all genders) to support our Data Engineering squad at Global Discovery. At Global Discovery we craft the central Search and Recommendation services that serve millions of customers daily in more than 60 countries around the globe.
Data is the foundation for our machine learning and AI algorithms that create truly personalized recommendations decode our customers queries and intent learn to rank our search results and create semantic matching. For this we process terabytes of data on a daily basis in batches and streaming data pipelines monitoring its quality and training machine learning models.

Your mission:
As part of an experienced team you will be responsible for designing building and managing batch and streaming data pipelines to enable training and running of machine learning models with a focus on quality scalability and stability.
Work together with data analysts product managers backend engineers and data scientists in cross functional projects to develop the data solution solving real customer problems.
Develop measures of data and model quality and automated tests of the quality of datapowered features.
Navigate various data sources and efficiently locate data in a complex data ecosystem.
Qualifications :
Your heroic skills:
Good understanding of Python and its ecosystem especially oriented to data science and Machine Learning.
Strong knowledge of relational databases data modeling and solid experience in doing data analysis and transformations with SQL
Experience with big data infrastructure on GCP or AWS
Experience with our tech stack or similar tools: Git Docker Airflow dbt MonteCarlo Jenkins Terraform BigQuery Kubernetes.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English and able to present the thoughts in a clear and structured manner.
(nice to have) Experience working with machine learning models including deep learning applications and platforms such as Pytorch or TensorFlow is a plus
(nice to have) Knowledge of Java / Scala and Spark / Flink is a plus
