Junior Scientific Consultant

We are looking for a Junior Scientific Consultant to work alongside our team of technical experts in a multifaceted role including technical research project management and business development.

Youll be given a unique opportunity to develop allround experience in the nuclear decommissioning radioactive waste management and disposal industry. Youll work in small teams alongside worldclass experts and be given ample opportunities to develop expertise and grow into the role early in your career.

Youll have the opportunity to provide services to clients on an international basis and deliver highquality research while building and maintaining strong client and project team relationships.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver & support on quality technical projects or in a timely costeffective manner in accordance with regulations and internal procedures.
• Deliver written work and research on a wide range of industry regulatory and policy projects in the UK and overseas.
• Present research and findings to clients and or workshops where necessary.
• Project management in accordance with company standards and guidelines (training provided).

Qualifications :

Essential requirements:

• PhD or MSc in quantitative earth sciences applied mathematics physics chemistry or engineering or youll hold a BSc alongside relevant experience.
• Ability to deliver highquality work with excellent attention to detail within tight deadlines.
• Excellent time management prioritisation and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent presentation interpersonal and communication skills using English language.

Desirable skills and experience:

• Radioactive waste management planning/options assessment disposal nuclear safety and related fields potentially with experience at nuclear sites.
• Modelling particularly with respect to site characterisation groundwater flow gas transfer and/or contaminant transport in geological media (e.g. GoldSim COMSOL).
• Familiarity with criticality safety assessments; radiological risk assessment; and/or environmental safety case development.
• Project and contract management experience.
• Coding skills (e.g. Python C).
