Job Description

 

Who are you

You are a construction professional with a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience working in a cost management role on commercial real estate interiors or related fitout projects. 

Job Objectives:

  • Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Manage and oversee multiple projects all in different stages of construction.
  • Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Review and participate with the design services team and general contractor in the development of the cost estimates.
  • Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
  • Communicate or meet with general contractor and owner project manager to gather status information to prepare a cost estimate update.
  • Prepare written comments to the general contractors submissions including the executive summary.
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers direct from NPA subs quantities from A/Es.
  • Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
  • Work proactively with minimal supervision to resolve scheduling issues.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects. Complete timely accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.

Qualifications :

 

*Onsite presence is required in the NYC office TuesdayThursday. Requirements may change depending on our clients needs.

A minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience working in a cost management/quantity surveying role on commercial corporate interiors or related tenant improvement and/or fitout construction projects. 

  • Ideally a college degree in Quantity Surveyor Engineering Construction Management with a technical Focus or related technical field.
  • Solid technical experience in all cost management areas; planning estimating precontract and managing KPIs.
  • US and international cost management experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with collaborative software including Costx or other related cost related software. Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency using spreadsheets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite: Docs Sheets Slides and Drive.
  • Polished individual who demonstrates excellent presentation verbal written and communication skills.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers!


Additional Information :

 

The salary range for this fulltime role is $105K$130 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range depending on candidates experience and qualifications.
