Turner & Townsendis seeking an experiencedSenior Cost Manager /Quantity to join our team leading cost management for a highprofile data center campus project for a major technology client. This project involves the development of stateoftheart facilities requiring exceptional expertise in cost control and construction management.
The Senior Cost Manager will be responsible for overseeing the cost management and financial performance of a largescale data center campus construction project from inception through to completion. This role demands a skilled professional who can provide strategic financial oversight ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost budgeting financial reporting procurement within the data center or largescale commercial construction sector. Estimation experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of cost plans and budgets ensuring alignment with client requirements and project objectives.
- Monitor and report on cost performance identifying areas of risk and providing mitigation strategies.
- Maintain an accurate and uptodate project cost database.
- Produce regular financial reports including cost forecasts cash flow analysis monthly status reports and budget performance reports for senior management and clients.
- Analyze project financials to detect discrepancies and make recommendations for corrective action as needed.
- Preparing cost estimates and utilizing estimating tools to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements. (20%)
- Develop and implement financial control processes to ensure compliance with company and client requirements; manage pay apps.
- Manage procurement strategies vendor selection and contract negotiations to maximize cost efficiency and value for money.
- Oversee contract administration including monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring adherence to contractual terms.
- Collaborate with legal and project teams to address any contractual issues and claims management.
- Identify potential financial and operational risks and develop appropriate strategies for their mitigation.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to anticipate project challenges related to cost schedule and resources.
- Implement risk management protocols to proactively minimize exposure to financial setbacks.
- Work closely with the project management team architects engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and cost control.
- Represent the company during client meetings and discussions providing insights and updates on cost management strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote trust and transparency.
- Mentor and guide junior cost management team members fostering skill development and professional growth.
- Lead by example demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
- This is a Hybrid role and will be onsite some days.
- Strong postcontractandchangeordermanagement experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Quantity SurveyingConstructionManagement Engineering or a related field.
- 6 years of experience incostmanagement and quantity surveying with a strong focus on largescaledata centers or relatableconstructionprojects and cloud services.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- PQS (Professional Quantity Surveyor) orMRICS(Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation is a plus.
- Proficiency incostmanagement software (e.g. Procore Bluebeam Sage or similar).
- Indepth knowledge ofconstructioncontractsprocurementprocesses andriskmanagement.
- Understanding ofdata centerdesign andconstructionprocesses includingMEPsystems and structural elements.
- Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
