Job Description
The Federal Planning group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative highly talented project manager for immediate employment in the Arlington VA or Virginia Beach offices. The project manager will lead or serve on multidisciplinary planning projects for mainly military installations and federal agencies. As the lead of the project team the project manager will develop creative and innovative solutions to address the Federal Governments issues. The project manager will:
- Be responsible for all project tasks included in the task order including schedule data collection and analysis workshop preparation meeting facilitation concept development report writing and layout graphics development etc.
- Coordinate project resources and staffing and task management
- Manage clients communications expectations and requests consistently
- Communicate effectively with project team and provide clear guidance
- Ensure quality of reports and documents developed meets guidelines
- Mentor staff to assist in their professional growth
- Assist with preparation of proposals for planning projects
- Contribute to client relationships and business development efforts
- Introduce innovative ideas or processes to streamline project efforts
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility with projects and assignments

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS in Urban Planning or related degree plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field
- Eight (8) years of related Urban Planner work experience
- Professional experience with Federal / Military organizations agencies or departments as a client
- Professional project management skills and experience managing a project team
- Excellent communication skills with clients and project teams
- Proficient at public speaking presentation and facilitation skills
- Positive outlook and cando attitude approach to projects and teamwork
- Exceptional writing research analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities
- Efficient and organized planner with an attention for detail
- Ability to work independently as well as lead multidisciplinary teams
- Apt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layouts
- Flexible to adapt to evolving project requirements and client requests
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite required
