Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Contract Specialist to be based in Sacramento CA. This position is open to remote work.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for assisting with the delivery of thirdparty agreements from inception to completion under the direction of the ThirdParty Agreements Manager. The primary focus of the Contract Specialist will be to timely secure necessary agreements between the client and utilities municipalities counties state/federal agencies railroads and other relevant entities to enable construction.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the drafting of complex agreements between the client and entities whose facilities conflict with the plan.
- Support the negotiation of complex agreements directly with stakeholders.
- Support staff in the negotiation of ThirdParty Agreements.
- Support the drafting of ThirdParty Agreements and Real Property Branch Templates.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures for Third Party Agreements.
- Collaboratively engage with internal stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
- Responsible for leading meetings giving key stakeholder presentations and maintaining detailed records.
- Responsible for maintaining internal records according to the clients record retention policies and Third Party Managers directions for all assignments and internal stakeholder approvals.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) and Bachelors degree in business law or related field.
- 2years of experience in contract drafting and negotiations
- 1 years of project management experience.
- Be a selfstarter and detailoriented with exceptional writing skills.
- The ability to prepare technical correspondence and complete comprehensive reports; address an audience effectively; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; and collaboration skills for meeting established project goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of the California HighSpeed Rail Authority RightofWay Manual California State Contracting Manual Caltrans Utility Relocation Manual DesignBuild Contracts Federal Statutes California State Statutes and Project Management Techniques.
- Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Project.
- The ability to maintain good communication skills and working relationships with third party agencies management consultants private sector contractors subcontractors and their associations.
- Strong coordination skills given the strong matrix organization assembled for the program delivery team.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills (both written and oral) and the ability to speak knowledgeably with other consultants stakeholders other governmental agencies and individual citizens
- Knowledge of and experience in negotiating agreements (specifically utility cooperative joint use common use easements and other similar agreements).
