Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Provide technical support to Plant Operations and Maintenance teams for the duration of rotating equipment lifecycle, focusing on equipment health, capacity, efficiency, and reliability to ensure equipment and plant availability KPIs are met and to ensure safe operations. Understand and troubleshoot rotating equipment failures and ensure effective and appropriate repairs are carried out within reasonable timeframes.

Key Accountabilities

Ensuring the Condition Monitoring system, equipment and tools are in place to support the availability and integrity of the plant equipment.

Ensuring the standardization of all condition monitoring systems and equipment. Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

Maintaining and improving the condition monitoring systems to assure the availability, reliability, and integrity of the rotating equipment in line with MWSPC’s quality standards and requirements.

Implement approved policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Develop and co-ordinate Condition Monitoring policies and programs and provide expert advice on interpretation of condition monitoring data to provide an early warning signal to plants.

Utilize advanced reliability techniques (FMEA, Weibull analysis) and act as facilitator in developing solutions to long standing reliability issues.

Develop additional Condition monitoring programs such as thermography, oil analysis, lubrication and greasing programs, Motor current signature analysis, steam water analysis etc.

Carry out vibration monitoring on rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, compressor, turbine, etc.). Sound knowledge of Rotating Equipment construction and its repair techniques. -Sound knowledge of all Rotating Equipment such as pumps, compressor, diesel engines, generators, turbines and the like.


Desired candidate profile


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Minimum Experience

  • 5-7 or more years of direct experience in the field of Rotating Equipment operation & maintenance, condition monitoring, performance analysis within company such as: Petroleum, Chemical, Fertilizer/Mining or other Industrial Manufacturing organizations.
