Senior Inspector Electrical and Mechanical

Job Summary

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the Contractors compliance with the Contract Documents with regards to the Electrical Works (Power Substations Lighting F.A ELV Security System Access Control Instrumentation and Telecommunication) and associated elements of the Contract. Coordinate on a daily basis with the other Package team to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor. Process the incoming correspondence technical submittals inspections and perform the necessary actions.

Job Duties

• Prepare Daily Reports.
• General oversight of Inspectors daily activities including works assignments onsite performance and guidance on the supervision of the Contractors operations.
• Review and Comment/Approve of the Contractors Shop Drawings as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Review and undertake site inspections.
• Review and assist the RE to provide approvals/comments to the Contractors technical submittals (Method Statement Material shop drawings ... etc.) as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Coordination with Contractors supervisory personnel regarding schedule sequence and method of work.
• Review the asbuilt drawings in coordination with inspectors and surveyors.
• Witness the laboratory tests and verify test results.
• Report nonconformances by the Contractor if observed while the Contractor executes his scope of services.
• Assist in punch list preparation.
• Coordinate field inspections.

• Set manage and control delivery of all contract elements and objectives including scope quality budgets schedules stakeholder interfaces Communication /reporting environmental and Health and Safety.
• Maintain the SRE informed of all developments which may affect the project so that these can be dealt with immediately.
• Must be technically sound to interpret survey and engineering submittals to channelize and solve problems expeditiously.
• Take the required measures to identify slippage in the Contractors activities early so that immediate recovery actions can be taken by the contractor.
• Use extensive relevant construction experience to proactively anticipate and prevent problems before they arise.
• Portray strong leadership skills which promote mutual respect both from the AECOM CM staff as well as the Contractor.
• Ensure high quality of works during the construction period strict compliance with the Employers Requirements Projects Specifications and Safety Requirements
• Assessment of the Contractors compliance to the quality management System as specified in the latest applicable standards.
• Review of Contractors Design for compliance with Employers Requirements Authority Requirements EndUser Requirements and Local and International Standards.

• Review and provide necessary comments/approval to the Contractors technical submittals including but not limited to calculations drawings material etc.
• Submit to the SRE daily weekly reports with details of the progress of fabrication construction testing of components parts and assemblies and status of materials procurement. Any nonconformity and malpractice found shall also be reported.
• Evaluate Contractors personnel equipment materials and subcontractors
• Monitor progress of all project participants.
• Participate in project construction meetings.
• Assist in resolution of construction problems.
• Analyze value engineering proposals.
• Prepare nonconformance report to the contractor if observed while the Contractor executes his scope of services

Qualification

A Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Specific Skills Required

• Having relevant experience in supervising education or medical related buildings. This experience is the determining factor for this role.
• Have working knowledge in supervising works as applicable.
• Management experience with the ability communicate and interact with all other building disciplines.
• Reporting and communication skills.

Experience

10 years experience (including 5 years in GCC) in building design construction and supervision of Electrical Works (Power Substations Lighting F.A ELV Security System Access Control Instrumentation Telecommunication ... etc.) with a proven successful track record.
