Job Summary/Responsibilities: 
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for the opportunity to manage projects in the aviation and transportation market sector.  In the role of a project manager this individual will need to be a leader for our design teams while also creating a collaborative environment for multidiscipline teams to engage with clients and deliver excellent work. The selected candidate will manage projects primarily associated with an existing portfolio of large capacity contracts with growth into developing and winning work.Responsibilities include: 

Client Management and Relationship Building 

The most important attribute for this position is a successful track record of growing and fostering relationships with clients leading to repeated work. 

• Builds and maintains and fosters positive client relationships. 
• Develop proposals scopes of work and fees that meet the clients needs and expectations. 
• Client management services and relationship building. 
• Primary point of contact for projects for projects. 
• Work with clients to be in a trusted advisor role. 

Leadership/Team Management 

Lead multidisciplinary and often multicompany teams to an integrated successful project execution measured by client feedback and businessperformance The position includes working with clients as well as interdisciplinary technical leads and subconsultants to coordinate the successful capture and execution of projects in design and construction. 

• Mentor and develop staff providing leadership in an environment the cultivates teamwork initiative and growth. 
• Have an attitude that supports teamwork and collaboration with a desire to proactively build teams for successful project outcomes. 
• Plan direct and monitor all aspects multidisciplinary work. 
• Ability to engage on multiple projects or a large project with multiple phases. Expected level of engagement includes supervision on delivery of scope direction and coordination as necessary; identification of change orders or delegating portions of projects to deputies with active engagement in oversite. 
• Understand issues and proactively problem solve address issues in a timely and professional manner. 
• Develop and communicate staffing plans and workload expectations throughout the project duration.  
• Lead by example for safety and quality execution 
• Manage and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex architectural and engineering projects. 
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for capture and execution of projects. 
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget. 
• Celebrate team successes. 

Project Management 

Project Managers with the support of project controls are responsible for delivering business successes in addition to identifying and mitigate risk throughout the lifecycle of projects. Typical Project Manager duties for this position include: 

• Manage more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar. 
• Plan direct and monitor all aspects of small and large multidisciplinary projects involving the design of airport engineering projects and support functions with a focus on the airside. 
• Oversee a wide array architectural building engineering and civil based work in support of projects from planning through construction administration. 
• Develop and define large dynamic project scopes. fees and objectives; involving multiple disciplines all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. 
• Implement project quality assurance and quality control. 
• Oversee project financials including cash flow management. 
• Develop and monitor a detailed project plan to track progress and identify shortfalls in a timely manner. 
• Manage change and exercise appropriate escalation to management as necessary. 
• Develop maintain and track project schedule project budget and risk register. 
• Delivering positive financial metrics including assold profit and days sales outstanding. 
• Receive positive client feedback in conjunction with achieving contractual performance and financial milestones across the lifespan of multiyear / multitask order contracts. 

Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed below: 

• Oversight of project throughout the lifecycle of the project from identification to capture execution construction and closeout. 
• Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to internal regional and Buildings Places management. 
• Oversees the development of work plans and organizes project studies. 
• Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team. 
• Oversee and develop technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals. 
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. 
• Superior communication writing editing and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences. 

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements: 

• BA/BS in Architecture or Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience managing A/E Design Projects or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 
• US Citizenship is required 

Preferred Qualifications : 

• Experience managing a project or multiple projects consecutively with a total contract value over $25M. 
• Experience in preparation of Project Reports Feasibility Studies and PS&Es for Aviation projects. 
• A proven track record of marketing/selling/delivering services to Aviation clients. 
• 15 years experience in vertical A/E design; including 10 years of project management in the aviation or municipal market sector. 
• Strong leadership and communication skills necessary to direct and coordinate multidiscipline teams. 
• History of making decisions to drive successful project execution. 
• PPM Certification 
• Licensed PE or RA 
• Ability to work in fastpaced environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. 
• Strong sense of accountability with a drive to bring projects and project teams through projects. 
• Ability to negotiate with clients and subcontractors with an understanding of how outcomes will affect the business. 
• Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera and familiarity with Revit 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam

• In person presence in the office or at the client site is expected for this position a minimum of 34 days per week.
