Job Description
AECOM is seeking a midlevel Structural Engineer to be based in our Boston MA office. This position will perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues.
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following items:
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and welldefined procedures
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments
- Identifies discrepancies in results
- Provides guidance to entrylevel engineers
- Performs work in accordance with agreedupon budget and schedule with little supervision
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete the primary design elements for engineering works

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements :
- BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus four (4) year of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
- Must have either ETABS or SAP experience to qualify for this position
- Must be able to perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues
Preferred Qualifications :
- PE License in the state of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain the license within 12 months of employment
- Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP RAM Structural AutoCAD SAFE TEDDS SAP2000 MathCAD SpecsIntact spColumn spBeam spWall Enercalc
- Revit experience is highly desirable
- Masters in Structural Engineering
- 6 years of experience preferred
