The Pharmacy Filling Technician position is a rewarding and vital role in the team! Rockmed is seeking a qualified candidate fulltime to start January 2025 or sooner.
Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Filling Technician is tasked with a range of responsibilities related to overseeing drug inventory preparing medications and carrying out other technical duties essential for the efficient operation of the pharmacy. Their tasks are performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist team lead or manager. At Rockmed the technicians responsibilities are confined to tasks that do not have legal requirements necessitating the direct involvement of a registered pharmacist.
Position Duties:
- Drug Inventory Management Ensure accurate maintenance of all medicationrelated records as required by law. This includes maintaining uptodate historical medical history relevant clinical and laboratory data and concurrent medication information.
- Medication Preparation & Packaging Prepare and package medications according to prescription labels and medication administration records (MAR) using various methods such as blister cards bottles syringes or sachets. Both manual and automated processes will be used for daily cycle and prepack filling.
- Professional and Courteous Interactions Engage in friendly and appropriate interactions with internal and external customers associated with the pharmacy.
- Patient Confidentiality Ensure the maintenance of patient confidentiality and adhere to all standards mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Requirements
Experience/Education:
- Proof of Pharmacy Technician Registration is required by State of WI law.
- CPhT Certification highly preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a Long Term Care pharmacy is preferred but not required.
- High School graduate or equivalent degree required.
Skills:
- Proven experience or demonstrated ability to mentor guide and others.
- Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with customers peers and managers.
- Attention to detail accurate typing basic computer and problemsolving skills.
Hours:
Rockmed is open MondayFriday from 8:00AM 6:00PM and Saturday 9:00AM 3:00PM. We are closed for all major holidays.
