Job Overview:
Our client a reputable hospital is seeking an experienced Pharmtech Incharge to oversee pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the pharmacy ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing highquality pharmaceutical services to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pharmacy Operations Management:
o Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
o Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescriptions.
o Maintain proper storage and handling of drugs and medical supplies as per regulatory guidelines.
2. Inventory and Stock Control:
o Monitor inventory levels conduct regular stock checks and ensure timely procurement of pharmaceuticals.
o Manage stock rotation and monitor expiry dates to minimize wastage and ensure availability of essential medications.
o Maintain accurate inventory records and manage the ordering of supplies to prevent shortages.
3. Patient Care and Counseling:
o Provide pharmaceutical care by counseling patients on the correct use of prescribed medications.
o Address patient inquiries regarding drug interactions side effects and appropriate usage.
o Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans and improve therapeutic outcomes.
4. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
o Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including those set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
o Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pharmacy operations.
o Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
5. Team Leadership and Training:
o Supervise and mentor junior pharmacy staff ensuring adherence to best practices and professional standards.
o Provide training and support to pharmacy staff on new medications procedures and regulations.
o Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve team performance.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy transactions including prescriptions patient counseling and inventory management.
o Prepare and submit regular reports on pharmacy activities stock levels and patient care metrics to hospital management.
o Ensure proper documentation of controlled substances in accordance with legal requirements.
