Job Description

Support Worker Burwell Cambridge (parttime)
Earn 10.40 15.05 per hour with excellent benefits and support in a rewarding personcentred care role

About Us:

Role Overview:
We are looking for a patient and dedicated support worker to work 20 hours per week covering shifts between the hours of 09:30 and 18:30 across all days in the Burwell area of Cambridge. Shifts will be on a rota basis and confirmed in advance. Support is required with domestic social and community activities.


Requirements

About the Client:
Our client is a gentleman in his 70s a lifelong Cambridge resident who enjoys discussing news politics history and his travels. Following a road traffic accident he sustained a traumatic brain injury and orthopaedic injuries impacting his mobility and requiring an attendantpropelled wheelchair when fatigued and outdoors. Support is needed to assist him with community activities domestic tasks working under the guidance of medical personnel to assist with prescribed rehabilitation programs including dressing management. He has dysarthria so patience and strong communication skills in English are essential. Driving his adapted vehicle is required and due to limited transport options in his village location you should have your own vehicle.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Good use of and understanding of English and communications skills due to client needs
  • Ability to support the client to travel for holidays in the UK and overseas
  • Patient friendly enthusiastic and punctual
  • Strong commitment to a personcentred approach willing to support the client over the long term

Training Provided:
All training to meet CQC standards is provided and includes Safeguarding Health and Safety First Aid Food Hygiene Moving and Handling Person Care Wound Care Diabetes/Dementia/Brain Injury Awareness and more..


Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by HomeCareDirect)
  • Drivers only aged 25yrs or over (for insurance purposes) with a full UK driving licence
  • Must have access to and use of own vehicle due to clients location
  • Good use of and understanding of English and communication skills
  • Willing to travel with the client for holidays if required
  • Commitment to company policies and confidentiality treating the client with dignity and respect
