Site Supervisor

Roles and responsibilities

The Site Supervisor manages civil construction of projects including all civil , building, structural engineering and land surveying activities. Handle end to end projects encompassing planning, design, estimation, scope definition, finalization of techno-commercial aspects and laying down of quality standards.

Job Responsibilities 1

Inspect construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.

Supervise and instruct the construction team as well as subcontractors.

Educate site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocol.

Enforce site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.

Handle site accidents in accordance with established accident protocol.

Maintain an accurate record of construction employee attendance.

Evaluate the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.

Analyze blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Comprehensive understanding of construction principles, techniques, and methodologies, including knowledge of structural engineering, building codes, and construction materials.

Proficiency in project management concepts and practices, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to effectively plan, execute, and monitor construction projects.

Strong technical skills in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints, and familiarity with construction software and tools for accurate project analysis and documentation.

Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and propose effective solutions in a dynamic construction environment, demonstrating critical thinking and analytical skills to overcome challenges.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with project teams, stakeholders, and clients, facilitating collaboration, resolving conflicts, and ensuring project objectives are met.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

• Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with the project timeline.
• Monitor and coordinate the activities of workers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure that work is performed according to the drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with the project manager and other team members about project status, issues, and requirements.

2. Health and Safety:

Roles:

• Ensure a safe working environment for all workers on site.
• Enforce safety regulations and protocols to minimize risks and accidents.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensure everyone understands the safety protocols.
• Perform regular site inspections to identify and address safety hazards.
• Ensure that workers are using appropriate safety equipment and follow health and safety guidelines.
• Report accidents and injuries promptly and assist with investigations as required.
• Manage risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential safety issues.

3. Quality Control:

• Ensure the quality of work meets the specified standards and regulations.
• Identify and address any issues with the quality of materials or workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect construction work regularly to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Verify that materials and work meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct quality checks and site audits to ensure proper execution of tasks.
• Address issues related to poor workmanship and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that construction processes are being followed precisely according to design plans and building codes.
