Job Description

As the HDR Team Leader you will supervise and manage your team to ensure adherence to the firm s policies and procedures. You will lead by example fostering a positive environment that motivates team members and drives overall performance and growth.


Main Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership:

    • Provide strong leadership to ensure the team meets its targets and objectives.
    • Foster a positive atmosphere that embraces change and encourages enthusiasm.
    • Allocate and prioritise workloads effectively among team members.
  2. Relationship Management:

    • Develop effective working relationships with senior management other team leaders staff clients and external agencies.
    • Chair team meetings and facilitate clear communication.
  3. Client Service Standards:

    • Maintain high standards of client service by monitoring performance and auditing workloads.
    • Conduct investigations in line with the firm s complaints policy and analyse trends for improvement.
  4. Policy Development:

    • Participate in the development of departmental policies procedures and strategic plans.
    • Contribute to the recruitment and induction of new staff.
  5. Compliance and Training:

    • Stay updated on developments in housing disrepair and ensure staff are informed about relevant legislation and policies.
    • Ensure compliance with departmental and firm wide standards.
  6. Additional Duties:

    • Carry out other duties as required to support the firm s operations.

Specific Tasks:

  1. Managing Team Members:

    • Handle leave requests and ensure business continuity during absences.
    • Conduct Return to Work meetings and probation reviews.
    • Address performance issues with the support of the Operations Manager and HR.
  2. Performance Management:

    • Manage a personal caseload with direct support from a Paralegal.
    • Coach and mentor team members to achieve individual and team targets.
    • Audit team members work to assess effectiveness and provide constructive feedback.
  3. Growth and Collaboration:

    • Regularly liaise with fellow team leaders to share knowledge and address operational challenges.
    • Engage with other department managers to resolve interdepartmental issues.
    • Meet quarterly with Directors to align on business objectives and growth strategies.

Person Specification: To excel as a Team Leader candidates should possess a mix of technical and personal skills including:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and flexibility to maintain effective interdepartmental relationships.
  • Tact and diplomacy in interactions with clients third parties and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and selfmotivation to achieve quality work and client care.
  • A willingness to learn grow and provide constructive feedback.
  • Confident negotiation and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Excellent timemanagement skills and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software (Proclaim).


Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years litigation experience.
  • At least 6 months experience in housing disrepair.
