Job Description

What we are looking for

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Leader to join usas the Mozambique Country Lead and serve as a passionate advocate within the Digital for Development movement. In this role you will lead the Mozambique team including the Program Manager Platform Manager and other key members. Your primary mission will be to drive impact by spearheading the development sales and launch of innovative and impactful digital engagement campaigns that address some of the most pressing development challenges. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all major development sector organizations in Mozambique are aware of our cuttingedge solutions and understand the value of integrating these tools into their initiatives. This position reports to the Vice President Partnerships for East and Southern Africa.

    What does the job involve

    • Spend at least 90% of your time on sales and partnership development to:
    • Drive growth and impact through incountry sales. You will lead the sale of our solutions by proactively prospecting opportunities with development sector clients and donors
    • Conduct effective outreach to meet with these clients and donors and convert qualified leads
    • Undertake indepth research to understand the specific needs priorities and challenges of these clients and donors
    • Work with these development sector partners to design and launch effective mobile engagement projects; this includes building relationships codesigning projects preparing budgets and establishing us as a digital thought leader
    • Respond to Requests for Proposals that are a fit for our solutions
    • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to craft compelling solutions and proposals that maximize our social impact and value proposition
    • Maintain a dynamic and organized pipeline of potential opportunities and track engagement activities
    • Work towards the achievement of monthly quarterly and annual sales targets
    • Implement our sales management strategy through weekly tracking of progress on the sales pipeline in our CRM system
    • Spend approximately 10% of your time supporting the crossfunctional Country Crew to:
    1. Delight our partners with quality timely execution of program deliverables
    2. Maintain relationships with Mobile Network Operators to ensure the infrastructure and agreements are in place to connect with all mobile phones in the country
    3. Represent the organization to national government agencies and ensure organizational compliance with national regulatory bodies.

    KPIs:

    • Bookings: Margin value of secured contracts including new and repeat business


    Qualifications

    • Experience of 10 years in any combination of: social enterprise INGO Mobile Network Operator ICT4D donor or international implementer
    • Proven sales / business development success with a history of generating new opportunities and achieving sales targets
    • Proven proposal writing and partnership building skills with a history of submitting winning applications
    • Experience securing contracts from nongovernmental organizations and UN agencies
    • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven experience in codeveloping ideas with partners
    • Leadership skills including intercultural sensitivity and a passion for unleashing the potential of your colleagues
    • Demonstrated selfmanagement skills adaptability and resourcefulness
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; strong influencing and negotiation skills
    • Experience living and working in Rwanda with established and active professional networks
    • Experience working with major bilateral donors such as USAID FCDO and/or EUfunded projects
    • Understanding of local business and NGO laws and telecoms regulations
    • Workshop facilitation skills and experience in design thinking approaches
