Job Description
Responsible for performing engineering activities to support planning designing construction maintenance and alteration of buildings highways bridges airports dams tunnels water/sewage systems power plants and transportation system projects. Includes estimating and determining feasibility based on analysis of maps/aerial photographs soil composition terrain hydrology geology and environmental impact studies.
Discipline concerning highways streets transportation systems drainage and flood control structures surface and subsurface hydrologies sewers tunnels railroads airports and airways geotechnical analysis waterfronts water and wastewater systems water power and supply apparatus wells pumps bridges dams irrigation structures water purification apparatus incinerators or site fire protection systems exclusive of significant structures. Research design and construction of fixed works other than significant structures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works as part of a ground and tunnelling engineering team with other engineers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland Spain India..).
- Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and welldefined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Proven track record of working on ground and tunneling engineering designs and collaborating with international and multicultural teams (2 years) for Transportation and Water Projects.
- Experience with international regulations and standards.
- Experience in the use of specific ground engineering and tunnelling software as Geoestudio / Plaxis (2D/3D) / Rocscience.
- Experience in earthworks design and slope stability assessment in soils and rock masses.
- The candidate should be familiarized the site investigation methods and their planning. Experience in the use of ground modelling software like gINT Openground or Leapfrog considered as positive.
- Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
- Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University
- US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
