Ensures that all products are produced to the specified specifications, target and deadlines are met to achieve the orders and ensures that all direct staff comply with the organization’s Health and Safety procedures
This role also works with the Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer and other support staff to resolve manufacturing issues.
Job Responsibilities 1
Leads, drives and/or actively participate on continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and efficiencies
Works directly with engineering in running, maintaining, troubleshooting automated assembly and metal parts manufacturing equipment
Inspects work performed to ensure work is within code and aligns to the scope of the work
Develops, coordinates and schedules safety and procedure training within established guidelines
Partners with other maintenance areas to coordinate job assignments to ensure work is being performed in an efficient and timely manner
Ensures organization resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs
Plans and schedules projects, including estimating of time and materials, while maintaining accurate records
Reviews results for timeliness, quality, and cost effectiveness to support departmental goals
Ensures that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
Communicates with Production Planners, and other section to ensures availability of resources at all times.
Ensure that all incident reports are investigated, accurately recorded and timeously submitted
Build and develop team members by setting challenging goals and by providing effective feedback, mentoring and coaching
• Understands the principles of manufacturingExperience developing Lean manufacturing processes to increase workforce efficiencyFactory management knowledge and experience with 5S, six sigma / Kaizen methodologiesKnowledge and experience with SPC techniquesKnowledge of Production planning methods IT skills: Outlook, Office, SAP and other softwareUnderstanding of Continuous Improvement Process
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
