AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer for our Denver office.
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Provides project leadership in the areas of design investigation analysis and construction of water management systems for Tailings Storage Facilities and multidisciplinary mining projects
- Serve as lead engineer or discipline lead on mid to large size projects
- Work with existing and potential clients to provide longterm stormwater management solutions for mine waste facilities
- Develop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow the Mining practice
- Provide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasks
- Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work
- May be responsible for Project teams that include 5 or more members often representing multiple disciplines including subcontractor(s)
- Plan schedule conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project focusing on the stormwater management design of mine waste storage projects
- Provide advice and consultation to client on engineering matters including compliance with government laws and regulations
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and drainage/civil design
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S. Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters OR PhD in Civil Engineering or related field of study
- 10 years or more of relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- MSHA Miner training
- Demonstrated progressive experience in stormwater evaluation and design (e.g. hydrologic analysis hydraulic analysis stormwater management design) construction monitoring and operations
- Progressive project experience including task leadership and project management roles on design and designbuild projects
- Ability to serve as primary point of contact with the client and develop client relationships
- Knowledge of standard hydrologic and hydraulic software programs (e.g. HECRAS and HECHMS) and evaluations
- Lead designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings construction specifications and final working drawings
- Work with CAD designers to produce constructionlevel drawings including grading drainage and roadway plans profiles details and sections
- Perform frequency storm and probable maximum precipitation hydrologic analyses
- Conduct hydraulic analyses and design of channels culverts bridges flow measurement and flood mapping
- Prepare reservoir and pond designs including geosynthetic lining leak detection/collection systems breach analysis outlet works and spillways
- Design channels and energy dissipation structures that include concrete riprap articulated concrete block fabricformed concrete and baffle blocks for erosion control
- Coordinate with OSE EPA and other agencies for permit preparation
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon scope budget and schedule
- Scope/estimate complex civil & hydraulics projects
- Track and manage task budgets and schedules
- Write reports and prepare/or direct preparation of detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and references
- Must be resourceful highly organized professional with attention to detail and people
