The successful candidate will have a leadership role for delivery on major site remediation portfolios of work in northern Canada. Engaging with multidisciplined internal and external delivery teams you will be at the forefront of delivery on some of Canadas largest remediation projects. This position is ideally suited to an environmental professional with over ten years experience in the remediation industry including over ten years in a project management role on a range of projects ($10000 up to multimillion). The ideal candidate is experienced in developing project teams to support execution with an understanding of people and project management project controls and a strong understanding of the technical project elements associated with heavy civil remediation. Experience in northern climates and the norther Canada regulatory environment is a definite asset.
AECOM is flexible with the home office location in a major centre in Western Canada (BC AB SK MB) or the Territories with the preference being the Edmonton AB office. AECOM can provide hybrid work options to give the flexibility you need to do your best work. This is a fulltime position.
Core responsibilities include:
Project Planning and Scheduling
Develop comprehensive project plans including scope timelines budgets and resource allocation.
Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives deliverables and key milestones.
Resource Management
Allocate and manage project resources effectively including personnel equipment and materials.
Ensure adequate staffing and training for project teams.
Risk Management
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Budget Management
Develop and manage project budgets ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
Monitor project expenditures and implement costsaving measures where possible.
Stakeholder Communication
Maintain regular communication with stakeholders including clients team members and senior management.
Prepare and present project status reports highlighting key achievements risks and issues.
Quality Assurance
Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Implement quality control processes and conduct regular inspections.
Health and Safety
Ensure health and safety plans are prepared and being adhered to by all project staff.
Exhibit personal safety leadership in the oversight and execution of all work.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure projects comply with relevant regulations standards and organizational policies.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation including contracts progress reports and change orders.
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives.
Provide guidance support and feedback to team members.
Change Management
Manage changes to project scope schedule and costs.
Ensure changes are documented and approved by relevant stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring
Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Conduct postproject evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a relevant engineering/science discipline: Civil Geotechnical Environmental etc.
Registered Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in Canada (or eligible for licensing)
4 years of related experience within civil and/or environmental engineering field
Consulting engineering experience as an engineer or other accredited professional and/or as a project manager
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and participating in multidiscipline teams
Strong client management skills
Valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications:
12 years of technical and project management experience.
Experience developing and implementing project scheduling monitoring and tracking systems
Experience with northern remediation design projects environmental assessment environmental engineering civil engineering remedial option assessment implementation system operation and maintenance
