Safety Health Environment Coordinator

AECOM is seeking a proactive and skilled SH&E Coordinator to join our team on one of the flagship projects of AECOM in the Netherlands. This project focuses on the modernization and expansion of critical terminal facilities enhancing operational efficiency while prioritizing sustainability and safety. Covering a vast 500000m the site will become a fully automated operational terminal designed for maximum efficiency and advanced functionality. The SH&E Coordinator will be instrumental in driving compliance fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring the project meets the highest standards of health safety and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Leadership: Provide expert guidance to ensure all project activities align with Dutch regulations EU standards and AECOM/Client policies.
• Risk Management: Conduct indepth risk assessments and implement tailored mitigation strategies addressing the specific complexities of terminal construction and operations.
• Training & Awareness: Deliver impactful SH&E training sessions toolbox talks and workshops to engage and empower project teams and contractors.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Perform regular site audits and inspections ensuring ongoing compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement. Prepare clear actionable reports for stakeholders.
• Incident Management: Lead investigations of incidents and nearmisses ensuring root cause analysis is performed and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
• Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders ensuring clear alignment on SH&E objectives.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain uptodate SH&E documentation including permits safety plans and environmental assessments ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Sustainability Integration: Champion environmentally responsible practices contributing to the clients commitment to reducing its ecological footprint.

Qualifications :

• Proven expertise in organizational effectiveness with the ability to drive safety and quality initiatives across diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong knowledge of local Dutch legislation ensuring compliance with national and EU regulatory requirements.
• Solid understanding of management systems such as ISO45001 ISO9001 and other relevant frameworks.
• Demonstrated auditing skills with the ability to identify risks and implement practical improvements.
• Selfmotivated proactive and a team player with a passion for fostering collaboration and achieving shared goals.
• Pragmatic approach to addressing Quality and SH&Erelated topics with a handson attitude to problemsolving.
• Exemplary behavior and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to understand and deliver on client needs effectively.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in SH&E and Quality Management Engineering or a similar technical field.
• Certified in MVK HVK MoSHE or equivalent training with a strong foundation in SH&E best practices.
• Fluent in Dutch and English both written and verbal essential for effective communication in a multicultural environment.
• Previous experience in a construction industrial or consulting company is an advantage.
• A valid driving license ensuring flexibility for site visits and project needs.
