Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Geologist in our Billings Montana office to assist with a variety of tasks on projects including data management site investigation and remediation.

This position is expected to begin in January 2025.

The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological hydrogeological and geochemical data in both the field and office settings.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • The field activities will consist of soil groundwater surface water sediment air and soil vapor sample collection geological logging and interpretation and the oversight of subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies.
  • Field work will be required and it will include travel that requires overnight stays near project locations.
  • The office activities will involve preparation of investigation reports.
  • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects a positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

 


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Geology.
  • Due to the nature of work US citizenship is required.
  • Valid U.S. Drivers License is required to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices. 
  • As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to collect and evaluate environmental data in the field and interpret data in an office setting.
  • Ability to assist in preparation of investigation reports and help coordinate preparation of drawings.
  • Possess technical report writing skills.
  • Provide independent leadership of self and teams in the field.
  • Possess a keen understanding of hazard recognition.
  • Proficient with basic computer programs and the MS Office suite.


Additional Information :

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
  • Travel of 50% is required for this position.
