Job Description
We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical Construction PreQualification Specialist to join our team in MidTown Manhattan New York. In this role you will be responsible for evaluating and prequalifying contractors and subcontractors for construction projects ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Manage and maintain the contractor prequalification database ensuring all information is uptodate and accurate
- Analyze contractor submissions including financial statements safety records and performance history
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of potential contractors and subcontractors
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to determine specific prequalification requirements for each project
- Develop and implement prequalification criteria and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare detailed reports on contractor qualifications and recommendations for project teams
- Stay current with industry standards regulations and best practices in contractor prequalification
- Assist in the development and maintenance of prequalification policies and procedures
- Provide support and guidance to contractors throughout the prequalification process
- Coordinate with legal and insurance departments to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS Finance or related curriculum or AA/AS 2 years of relevant experience in construction finance/risk or HSD/GED 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 35 years of experience in construction prequalification or related field.
- Proficiency in prequalification software and databases (TradeTapp).
- Strong analytical and research skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Experience with contractor evaluation and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations.
- Understanding of contractor qualification processes.
- Familiarity with construction project management.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
