Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Proposal Specialist to work in collaboration with the East Region business development and operations team on pursuits including partnering in the preparation of formal and informal client solicitations including expressions of interest (EOI) requests for qualifications (RFQ) requests for proposals (RFP) and prequalification efforts.
This will be a remote position that can be based in but is not limited to: Boston MA; Rocky Hill CT; Piscataway NJ; Conshohocken PA; Philadelphia PA; Richmond VA; Raleigh NC; Coral Gables FL; Tampa FL; Orlando FL.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists with large proposals and able to lead small to medium proposals (cross regions or business lines) and supports from capture through to interview stage as required.
- Coordinates content and information for qualifications and proposals including schedule templates compliance content plan and production. Provides conceptual leadership for document design. May serve as lead writer/editor for resumes and past performance sections for proposals.
- May facilitate color review (Pink and Red team) reviews and apply lessons learned to add value to proposals. Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.
- Participates in go/nogo and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal.
- Completes internal debriefs for proposals they lead and reviews debriefs and reviews client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.
- Has solid working knowledge of company quality procedures and approval processes (legal contracts DOA signatory).
- Liaises with appropriate/relevant business line team operations technical and business development professionals to support or develop marketing information (including but not limited to case studies/project sheets and capabilities summaries).
- Provides guidance to entry level proposal team members
- Performs a selfcheck of work prior to submitting to others for review/approval
Qualifications :
Minimum requirements:
- BA/BS in Journalism English Communications Marketing or a related field 2 years of experience collaborating within a marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activity or a demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry
- InDesign software experience
- Understands marketing and communications concepts
- Prior experience working within the AEC industry
- Strong written communication skills
- The ability to recognize process and present written information
- Proficient in MS Office (current version): Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Organizational writing/researching/editing and time management skills
- Strong organizational aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to operate within a team setting
- Understanding of CRM Salesforce is a plus
- A developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation strategy development and compliance and writing and production.
- Excellent writing skills with an aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to produce accurate compliant and compelling work independently and with others.
- Experience producing submittals in response to RFQ/RFP documents.
