The Simulation Standardized Patient (SP) reflect the mission vision and values of NM adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies procedures guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Simulation Standardized Patient portrays the role(s) of patients family members or others to allow healthcare professionals to practice clinical knowledge therapeutic communication skills and behaviors.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to memorize a simulated patient case as trained and within a designated time frame.
- Accurately portray all aspects of the case including history of current problem with appropriate affect behavior and physical findings.
- Consistently portray the patient in an accurate and standardized manner.
- Ability to work independently to study the assigned case and come prepared to the scheduled sessions.
- Must be comfortable having repeated physical examination assessments performed on self
- Willing to wear a patient gown with only undergarments underneath while on camera and/or observed live for educational purposes if applicable.
- Comfortable to have moulage/makeup on during the simulated patient encounter if applicable.
- Demonstrate improvisational skills when appropriate in case portrayals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all case information and learners performance.
- Maintain professional attitude and respect learners facilitators and simulation staff.
- Provide positive and constructive feedback in debriefing from a patient perspective as facilitated by the simulation facilitator.
- Participate in selfassessment of skills as an SP and actively pursue ways to improve skills.
- Ability to take constructive feedback from simulation facilitators or content experts and modify behaviors accordingly.

Qualifications :
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Flexible schedule.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Reliable and punctual to assigned sessions.
- Ability to quickly learn scenario and case portrayal.
- Agrees to be contacted by phone and email for schedule changes and scenario case delivery.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check.
- Compliance with all NM employment requirements
Preferred:
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology
- At least 2 years of experience in acting/improv or SP work
