Job Description

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager and in collaboration with the Program Coordinator Clinical Lead and Professional Practice Leader the Physiotherapist will provide quality physiotherapy services within a clientcentered framework. As a physiotherapist in the outpatient Neuro/Stroke Rehab program you will triage referred clients and assess and develop treatment plans where a broad range of treatment techniques will be utilized to alleviate pain and restore movement strength and function according to the patients rehabilitation goals. Other populations may be included in the caseload based on operational needs of the department.

Accountabilities:

  • Work with the patients/families and other team members to assess and treat patients optimizing independence and recovery
  • Provide education and consultation to patients their families team members and community partners as appropriate
  • Practice in accordance with the physiotherapy standards of practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario

Qualifications :

  • Experience with assessment and treatment of patients with a neurological and/or stroke population
  • Experience with WSIB clients and return to work planning
  • Experience supervising physiotherapy assistants
  • Knowledge of evidencebased clinical practice related to neuro/stroke patients
  • Demonstrated leadership ability within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional patient care team
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills required
  • Strong abilities to prioritize patient caseload to meet the needs of high referral volumes in a busy acute care setting
  • Flexibility in caseload and program assignment
  • Strong computer skills to support necessary documentation requirement for all patient groups
  • Experience in provision of relief coverage during planned and unplanned vacation/absences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills required
  • Proven record of good attendance and punctuality
  • Must demonstrate Oslers Values of Respect Excellence Service Compassion Innovation
  • May be required to travel between and work at all Osler and community sites (i.e. home consultations based on the patients identified rehabilitative goals and program admission criteria)


Additional Information :

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings 8  hours shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
