Job Description

The Finance Head in an IT company is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. This role involves strategic planning budgeting financial reporting forecasting risk management and ensuring financial compliance. The Finance Head works closely with the executive leadership team to align financial goals with business objectives ensuring profitability growth and longterm financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and implement the company s financial strategy ensuring it supports the overall business goals and objectives.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO executives and board of directors on financial planning and performance.
    • Oversee the development and execution of short and longterm financial plans ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Manage and oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements reports and forecasts ensuring timely reporting to the board and stakeholders.
    • Analyze financial performance identifying areas of improvement and costsaving opportunities.
    • Present key financial metrics and results to executive leadership and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Lead the budgeting process ensuring accurate allocation of resources across departments.
    • Prepare regular forecasts and financial projections adjusting for changes in the business environment and market conditions.
    • Ensure the company operates within the approved budget and identify variances proposing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:

    • Monitor and manage the company s cash flow to ensure liquidity and the ability to meet obligations.
    • Oversee working capital management including receivables payables and inventory management.
    • Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and improve the company s financial position.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to protect the company s assets.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations tax laws and industry standards.
    • Work with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure audits are conducted in a timely manner and financial practices meet statutory requirements.
  • Capital Management & Fundraising:

    • Manage the company s capital structure ensuring optimal funding through equity debt or other financial instruments.
    • Oversee relationships with investors lenders and other financial institutions.
    • Lead fundraising efforts and investment strategies as necessary to support business growth and expansion.
  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and develop a highperforming finance team setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
    • Provide mentorship and coaching to finance staff ensuring continuous professional development.
    • Ensure efficient operations of the finance department including overseeing accounting financial analysis and compliance functions.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Support:

    • Support the company s growth strategy by evaluating potential mergers acquisitions and partnerships from a financial perspective.
    • Lead financial due diligence valuation and integration processes for M&A activities.
  • Tax & Regulatory Management:

    • Oversee tax planning compliance and reporting to ensure the company s financial operations align with tax laws and regulations.
    • Implement taxefficient strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize the company s tax position.


Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    • A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 10 years of experience in finance with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role ideally in an IT or technologydriven company.
    • Strong experience in financial strategy budgeting forecasting reporting and managing financial teams.
  • Skills:

    • Strong financial modeling analysis and reporting skills.
    • Deep understanding of financial management accounting principles tax laws and regulatory compliance.
    • Experience with financial systems and tools such as ERP software accounting software and financial forecasting platforms.
    • Exceptional leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problemsolving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments including IT operations sales and marketing.
    • Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
