Requirements:
Completion of an Approved LVN/LPN Program
Must be licensed LVN/LPN and able to practice in Texas
Two years experience in nursing in an acute or longterm care setting
current American Heart Association CPR certification
Work three weekends a month and have 2 days off during the week
Commit to a 6month contract
Responsibilities:
Perform advanced vocational and practical nursing work.
Provide for the care treatment and general welfare of at the facility.
Perform basic and advanced routine and nonroutine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shift.
Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings.
Instruct direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support medical needs.
Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
Keep informed of and follows all agency policies and procedures.
Provide direction and assists with onthejob training to others such as newly hired LVNs & direct care staff.
Provide onthejob nursing instruction and training for new LVNs as requested by RN Supervisor.
Monitor oversee the work of and assign work to psychiatric nursing assistants as needed.
Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes & provide input to other members of the healthcare team.
Assist RNs with implementation of protocols procedures and programs to improve overall health and safety of staff and individuals.
Work under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
