Job Description
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Transit Architect with subject matter expertise in transit related design management and contract/construction administration specifically LRT and heavy rail. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record leading complex transit facility and infrastructure projects from start to finish. This role offers the chance to shape the design of largescale transit facilities and transitoriented developments with opportunities for local national and international work. 10 years of experience required managing multidisciplinary teams serving as the client liaison and solving complex challenges with creative elegant solutions; 5 years of recent and relevant LRT and rail building experience. Most of the Things Youll Work On:
- USA Transit Architecture Division with focus on rail design management and contract/construction administration projects. Diverse LRT and rail experience (freight and commuter rail preferred).
- Lead and manage large complex projects and project teams.
- Shape the design principles that drive projects from conception through execution.
- Collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues as part of the senior design and leadership team to foster a culture of design excellence within Arcadis Transit Architecture Studio.
- Assist with Transit related Business Development (BD).
- Develop oneyear twoyear threeyear business plans collaboratively with the Transit practice leads.
- Strengthen a transitfocused design practice in the Northeast USA (NY or MA preferred) that can support other regions from the outset.
- Mentor and develop emerging transit professionals
- Hybrid work opportunity. Proximity to Arcadis local office preferred with ideal candidate being inoffice 34 days per week.
Qualifications :
Qualifications and Experience:
- New York architecture registration required. NCARB preferred.
- University Degree in Architecture required
- 10 years of relevant experience in an architectural studio
- At least 5 years of experience leading complex transit projects and managing large multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with Transit or P3 publicfacing projects preferred.
- Proven track record managing executivelevel business relationships.
- Demonstrated experience with key clients including (but not limited to): MTA Long island Railroad Amtrak Septa New Jersey Transit Metro North MBTA etc.
- Proficient in all phases of project development from conceptualization to detailed execution.
- Strong knowledge of zoning and building codes. MA and/or NY specific regulations preferred.
- Expertise in specifications value engineering and construction administration.
- Highly organized capable of managing team priorities time and deadlines across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Motivated selfstarter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Analytical problem solver with a desire to mentor and inspire others.
- Desire to grow mentor and inspire a team
- Experience in rail transit station design transitoriented developments and working with local agencies is a plus.
- Skilled at leading large multidisciplinary teams including remote members.
Additional Information :
The salary range for this position is $125000 $175000 year (depending on years of experience and location).
