We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Municipal Design Engineer. The role will be under our Infrastructure team in Ottawa which supports municipal services projects. You will work on project management planning engineering design in municipal infrastructure (roads sewers watermains etc.) and road rehabilitation/reconstruction.
You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours working from home and/or in our Ottawa office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design of infrastructure projects for various municipal and federal clients throughout Ontario (including watermains storm and sanitary sewers roads & highways drainage and storm water management etc.)
- Prepare correspondence engineering reports and specifications
- Work with Senior Engineer in liaising with clients government regulatory authorities and other project stakeholders to guide projects through the approval processes
- Participate in reviewing project resources schedule budget quality management and project risk assessment on behalf of CIMA to meet client expectations
- Provide technical guidance coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
- Work with Senior Engineers to prepare engineering project proposals change orders client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Attend site meetings from time to time to collaborate with construction team
Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of municipal infrastructure
- University Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.) licence or eligible
- Proficient with design software packages: Autocad Civil3D and/or Open Roads is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Valid class G drivers licence
