We are seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer with expertise in water distribution and wastewater collection systems to join our Calgary team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects and contribute to innovative solutions that make a difference.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Lead the development of conceptual designs and engineering solutions for municipal water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Perform technical assessments of existing water and wastewater systems including capacity analysis and identifying areas for upgrades or optimization.
- Utilize advanced hydraulic modeling tools such as WaterCAD SewerGEMS or similar software to prepare and refine designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare and review technical reports proposals and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with municipal provincial and industry standards.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: Approximately 10 years or more of experience in municipal engineering with a focus on water and wastewater system design.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling software including WaterCAD SewerGEMS or similar.
- Proficiency in GIS software with the ability to integrate GIS data into engineering analyses (GIS proficiency is an asset).
- Strong understanding of municipal engineering standards and design principles for water and wastewater systems.
- Experience with QA/QC practices and procedures.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Organizational Skills: Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling software including WaterCAD SewerGEMS PCSWWM or similar.
- Proficiency in GIS software for mapping spatial analysis and data integration.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D for drafting and design is an asset.
- Familiarity with land development and municipal infrastructure projects in Alberta.
