Job Description

Mission

As an Electrical Technician in protection and control (P&C) youll be able to participate in the design of highlevel schematics the development of protection philosophy and contribute to largescale electrical energy projects. Youll work in a multidisciplinary environment developing your skills by collaborating with experienced professionals on substation hydroelectric and renewable energy projects with customers across Canada. You can work in one of our offices in the Eastern Townships (Sherbrooke or Granby). 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Design Control and Protection systems using 2D software (AutoCAD)
  • Prepare project deliverables including detail drawings electrical diagrams layouts equipment sizing etc.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians in the execution of technical tasks
  • Prepare plans drawings and calculations based on supplied specifications
  • Participate in the development of electrical Control and Protection systems including oneline diagrams logic diagrams AC threewire diagrams DC protection and control diagrams wiring drawings device connection drawings assembly drawings material lists and specifications for the manufacture and site installation of Control and Protection panels.
  • Participate in the design of AC and DC power systems including singleline diagrams AC and DC load calculations distribution diagrams connection drawings for chargers batteries inverters etc.
  • Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants)
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines: switchgear civil mechanical and building to develop optimized and advanced substation and power plant system design solutions.
  • Ability to perform sporadic site work when the opportunity arises (startup or monitoring)

Qualifications :

  • College Diploma (DEC) in electrical engineering technologies
  • Basic knowledge of the Office suite (Outlook Word Excel)
  • Fluency in spoken and written French
  • Selfmotivated resourceful and a team player
  • Knowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is an asset
  • Knowledge of digital substation design (IEC 61850) is an asset
  • Experience in electrical systems design is an asset
  • Experience in using AutoCAD software is an asset
