Job Description
The Lab Chemist Intern will work as part of a lab team in Tomball TX. The primary goal is to a
correlation between properties of crude oil (process fluid/hydrocarbon)
characterization/chemistry of foulant material and antifoulant chemicals / catalysts for various
hydrocarbon/refinery and petrochemical production and processing fouling control applications. This involves testing a variety of antifoulant chemicals and catalysts by using a variety of batch and continuous lab simulation test methods.
This is a fulltime 12 week internship with an anticipated start date in May 2025.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing / improving highthroughput antifoulant testing methods
- Validate methods using control samples
- Screen a variety of antifoulant chemicals and catalysts by using a variety of batch and continuous lab simulation test methods under different test conditions and varied dosage level
- Develop a quantitative propertyperformance correlation
- Document and write formal methods
Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with a focus in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Biochemistry or equivalent with 23 years of college chemistry lab experience
- Familiarity with basic wet chemistry and analytical techniques
- Ability to work independently in a lab environment with other team members
- Selfmotivated and a team player
- Demonstrated dedication to lab safety
- Effective problemsolving skills
- An accomplished communicator able to produce quality technical reports and documents
