Mechanical Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

Support the assigned project from the stage of design conceptualization up-to the stage of full fledge project functioning. Heat Load, Mechanical Service Design Conceptualization, Working Drawings & Related Calculation.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Perform a wide variety of Mechanical assignments by applying Mechanical design standards, practices, and techniques.
• Prepare and review CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and colour boards. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level Designer/Draftsman working on the same project.
• Conceptualize a design and its audit as per the requirement.
• Transform the concept into detailed working drawing.
• Visit Project site and work with engineering and construction units at project.
• Make presentations to management as and when requested related to the assigned project.
• Meet project timelines within the budgeted amount.
• Spearhead the project to achieve best standards and efficiency.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Design and Development:
  • Create detailed designs and specifications for mechanical systems, components, and assemblies, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Develop and test prototypes, evaluate performance, and iterate designs based on test results.
  • Perform stress, thermal, and dynamic analysis on components and systems using advanced simulation tools.
• Manufacturing Support:
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure the successful transition of designs from concept to production.
  • Address manufacturing challenges by refining designs to optimize for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the fabrication, assembly, and testing stages.

Desired candidate profile

Education/ Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

Two (2) years of progressive experience of mechanically design of the building and project coordination of large nature or other related areas in a large multi-size organization.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, materials science, dynamics, and control systems.
Expertise in designing and analyzing mechanical systems, components, and machinery.
Proficiency in material selection and manufacturing processes for optimal performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Experience with mechanical testing, prototyping, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
CAD and Engineering Software:
Proficient in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or CREO for creating detailed design models and assemblies.
Experience with simulation tools like FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) for system and structural analysis.
Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software and ERP systems.
Problem Solving and Innovation:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying issues and providing cost-effective solutions.
Innovative thinking for designing and optimizing mechanical systems to meet functional, economic, and environmental requirements.
Project Management:
Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Experience in leading or working as part of cross-functional teams to deliver mechanical solutions.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, JIRA).
Manufacturing Knowledge:
Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, 3D printing, casting, and assembly.
Ability to design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), ensuring product designs are cost-effective and easy to produce.
