Job Description

Targeted hourly pay: $23

BENEFITS

This position is 2nd shift 1pm 9pm.

Position Purpose: 

This position provides specialized hazard determination and consolidation of chemical waste materials. Responsibilities include testing consolidation packaging spill response labeling loading/unloading coordinating transportation and sampling/profiling material while adhering to state and federal environmental health and safety regulations.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Manually open unpack and consolidate containers of hazardous materials.
  • Test consolidate and provide spill cleanup response and remedial activities labeling loading offloading and logistics coordination for hazardous materials in a facility setting.
  • Assist in loading/unloading hazardous waste materials at the Flanders facility utilizing appropriate equipment such as drum dollies forklifts etc. to ensure waste transfer safely and on time.
  • Comply and enforce all compliance health safety and procedures in accordance with VESTS policies.
  • Become familiar with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and VESTS regulations.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • A valid state Drivers License.
