Position: Special Education Teacher


Job Summary:
The School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide highquality instruction and support for students with disabilities in a supportive and inclusive environment. This position involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) collaborating with staff and families and fostering student growth and achievement.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction and Curriculum Development:

    • Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.
    • Develop lesson plans and modify curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
    • Implement evidencebased instructional strategies to foster student engagement and achievement.
  2. Individualized Education Programs (IEPs):

    • Develop review and implement IEPs in collaboration with parents staff and specialists.
    • Monitor and report on student progress toward IEP goals.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education services.
  3. Classroom Management:

    • Create a safe inclusive and structured learning environment.
    • Employ effective behavior management techniques to support positive student behavior.
  4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with general education teachers paraprofessionals and specialists to provide appropriate support for students in both selfcontained and inclusive settings.
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and strategies for support.
  5. Professional Development:

    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in special education.
    • Stay updated on new policies procedures and resources for supporting students with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Special Education Education or a related field (Master s preferred).
  • Valid California Education Specialist Credential in Special Education (or to obtain one).
  • Experience working with students with disabilities including those with mild moderate and severe needs.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and organizational skills.

Additional Information:

  • Grade Levels: PreK through 8th grade.
  • Caseload: To be determined based on district needs.
  • Start Date: Immediate or as agreed upon.
