Job Description

As a Legal Counsel you provide endto end legal support for both digital and physical store expansion and portfolio of H&M Group brands in Korea. Be a reliable business partner by providing legal and regulatory guidance including but not limited to labor law employment matters health and safety and data privacy ensuring that it is in line with local laws and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review draft and negotiate lease/tenancy agreements for H&M Group stores including legal documents related to construction and facilities from a probusiness perspective with minimal risk exposure to H&M.
  • Proactively advise on legal issues/disputes related to expansion and/or consolidation and draft responses and letters in relation to contentious matters.
  • Provide support on marketplace and partnership opportunities for online/digital projects.
  • Assist the Regional Head of Legal & PA to provide overall legal support for projects disputes and strategic initiatives. Liaise with and support external counsel engagements in relation to dispute resolution.
  • Assist in research and analysis on legal issues with crossborder element in business/ consumer laws and other laws relevant for the industry.

Qualifications :

To be successful as a Legal Counsel you have experience in an inhouse legal function in a fastpaced dynamic environment ideally in a consumer business with digital and/or leasing experience. A selfstarter who can work with minimum guidance and demonstrate a proactive positive attitude to their work with detailoriented approach. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a high energy level with ability to thrive in a busy commercially oriented and handson environment working as a team

What you need to succeed:

  • Ability to speak fluently in Korean language and English Business Level is a must; confidence to communicate well to a range of audiences about the business and legal priorities in a multicultural and multilevel environment.
  • Experience with an international law firm or a multinational corporation is highly preferred
  • Experience with retail environment and leasing would be a plus.
  • 5 to 8 years of law firm and inhouse legal experience in Korea; called to the Bar in Korea
  • Grasp key drivers of the business and industry and quickly become immersed in the business and legal issues facing the company

 


Additional Information :

This is a fulltime position reporting into the Head of Safety & Compliance (KR) with a dotted reporting to Regional Head of Legal & Public Affairs (EAS)
