Roles and responsibilities
- Actively support and align work with the client's strategic objectives and imperatives, and passionately promote the client's mission and vision.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the LDC, architects, engineers, MC, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Actively interface and engage in the technical design process through the design stages - covering design works, technical services, surveys, studies, site investigations, reports, statutory approvals.
- The MEP/AV Lead supports the client's team at a strategic project delivery level in creating project briefs and RFI documentation based on the client's needs and required result.
- Collaborating with the design teams and lead design consultants (LDC) to maximise quality and value while minimising the risk profile for the project.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their expectations, ensuring that health and safety initiatives meet and exceed these expectations.
- Develop, implement, and manage health and safety strategies to ensure a safe and healthy environment across the project.
- Develop the projects departments strategy to establish and implement policies, standards and guidelines for modern methods of construction (MMC),
- Contributes to the establishment of the project execution plan, health and safety plan, QA/QC, and other documents as required.
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with the supply chain management and procurement teams to negotiate contracts with suppliers' subcontractors and vendors. Maintaining overall responsibility for MEP/AV construction contractor/subcontractor adherence to their respective contracts.
- Working in collaboration with the planning team contributes to an overarching construction programme for the project, including interfaces, stakeholders, procurement, commercial and design programmes.
- Report and monitor construction project facade progress against the schedule and cost plan highlighting concerns providing recommendations and implementing any agreed mitigation.
- Defining all project plan documents, including the scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans required on the project MEP/AV package.
- Assist the construction lead in the development and distribution of presentations, and weekly, and monthly reporting on all aspects of the project.
- Directing and supervising a team of construction professionals providing guidance and support.
- Capitalise on extensive knowledge and experience of global innovation in the latest construction methods and materials to meet the client's sustainability targets.
- In collaboration with the project team review supervision consultants' recommendation for extension of time or recovery plans to include contractor claims.
- Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
- Ensure resources are appropriate to meet current and future commitments and to maximise opportunities.
- Contributing to the resolution of technical issues on projects and providing technical guidance to other team members, such as technicians, junior engineers, and graduates.
- Subject matter expert in MEP/AV elements of the project.
- In collaboration with the commercial teams ensure the submission of monthly invoices by the contractors develop and update the project cash flow forecast and prepare estimates for variations.
Desired candidate profile
A relevant degree qualification.
Chartership or pursuing a similar level of professional qualifications.
Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Extensive MEP construction experience.
Working experience in the MEA region.
Influential skills - experience in leading or senior roles on major construction projects.
Cost Estimation: Expertise in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including direct and indirect costs, using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
Budget Management: Ability to develop, manage, and control project budgets, ensuring that costs remain within the approved limits throughout the project lifecycle.
Cost Control: Proficient in monitoring project costs and tracking any deviations from the budget, ensuring corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
Financial Analysis: Strong financial analysis skills to evaluate cost reports, forecasts, and financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and inefficiencies.
Risk Management: Ability to assess financial risks associated with a project, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and control costs effectively.
Project Reporting: Expertise in preparing and presenting cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with financial goals.
Procurement and Contract Management: Knowledge of procurement processes, including analyzing tender submissions, managing contracts, and ensuring the terms are adhered to.
Cost Breakdown Structures: Familiarity with cost breakdown structures (CBS) and ensuring that all cost elements are correctly allocated and monitored.
Value Engineering: Applying value engineering techniques to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising on quality or project scope.
Change Management: Experience managing changes in project scope and the impact on costs, ensuring that change orders are properly assessed and documented.
Stakeholder Communication: Ability to effectively communicate cost-related information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and senior leadership.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when reviewing costs, financial reports, and project documentation to ensure accuracy.
Software Proficiency: Experience using cost management software (e.g., Procore, CostX, Sage 300, Primavera, MS Project) and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) for financial analysis and reporting.
