Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Works as part of the senior construction delivery team, taking direction from construction lead and project senior leadership team (SLT), providing guidance to wider team.
Promotes and drives the businesses priorities through construction to production, digital & data and responsible business.
Understands and formulates short-term plans to deliver to programme, able to communicate with and coordinate trade/subcontractors.
Owns safety, wellbeing and quality deliverables for specific sections of the project.
Contributes to establishing and maintaining health, safety and wellbeing culture onsite.
Supports managers in leading focussed forecast Lookahead meetings, providing authority and guidance where required.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with client and design CMT, knowing QA process to final sign-off.
Provides comprehensive technical expertise and understanding of Mace onsite standards for each part of the project, where to find them, and responsible for implementation.
Identifies and implements continuous improvement and plans, identifies key business improvements.
Develops and maintain a series of both internal and external relationships.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Strong Leadership: Ability to lead large teams, including direct reports and subcontractors, inspiring them to deliver results while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Problem-Solving: Capable of resolving construction issues quickly, addressing delays, safety concerns, or unforeseen challenges that may arise on site.
Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring that all aspects of the construction process align with specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Negotiation Skills: Skilled in negotiating contracts, managing disputes, and working collaboratively with vendors, clients, and subcontractors.
Decisive and Action-Oriented: Ability to make quick, informed decisions and take proactive measures to ensure the project stays on track.
Resilient and Adaptable: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapting to changing project requirements or unexpected challenges.


Desired candidate profile

  • Project Management: Expertise in managing large, complex construction projects, from initial planning and budgeting to final delivery, ensuring all project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and motivate construction teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring coordination and efficient project execution.
  • Construction Process Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and technologies, including best practices in building design, site preparation, construction, and safety.
  • Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating construction-related risks, ensuring safety, quality, and legal compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Strong experience in preparing and managing budgets, tracking expenses, and implementing cost-control measures to ensure projects stay within financial targets.
  • Contract Management: Familiarity with construction contracts, including tendering, procurement processes, and contract negotiations with clients and suppliers.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Ensuring all construction work adheres to quality standards, building codes, and client specifications. Ability to implement and oversee quality control processes.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Deep understanding of construction site safety protocols and legal regulations, with the ability to enforce and monitor compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Proficiency in scheduling and allocating resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Sustainability Practices: Knowledge of sustainable construction practices, including green building technologies, energy-efficient designs, and environmental considerations.
