Senior Medical ScientistSenior Biomedical Scientist Microbiology

The Senior Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology will be responsible for Microbiology Laboratory operations in the absence of Chief Medical Scientist reporting directly to the Laboratory Services Manager during these periods. Authorising results ensuring result accuracy at all times. Evaluating results and communicating with your Chief Medical Scientist within the Microbiology Laboratory Laboratory Services Manager Consultant Microbiologist and/or requesting clinician any relevant information regarding patient safety. Assisting with the validations and verifications of new or amended methods/kits/equipment when required. Contributing to monitoring recording and investigations for audits. Plus supervising and supporting basic grade scientists students and auxiliary laboratory personnel.

Qualifications :

Education

• Bachelor Degree & Masters Degree in Biomedical Science

Experience

• Bachelor Degree qualification At least 5 years experience as a Basic Grade Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist in a medical Microbiology laboratory                                                              

          or                                                                    

• Masters degree qualification At least 2 years experience as Senior Medical in medical Microbiology laboratory

Any required licences / certifications or membership

•  CORU Registration (Medical Scientist)

           or

• HCPC Registration (Biomedical Scientist)
